The bead caps cone from Thailand, made by the Karen tribe. Already for centuries, the tribe members are specialized in making Thai silver beads, that contain 5% more silver than sterling silver.

Sardonyx is a variant of onyx in which the colored bands are sard (shades of red) rather than black. Black onyx is perhaps the most famous variety, but is not as common as onyx with colored bands.

These Sardonyx beads come from Cyprus.
